Mediterranean Gulls - 19th Nov
« on: November 20, 2006, 04:01:31 PM »

Hi all,
The past three times I have been down to Calshott I have seen at leats one Med. Gull. We also saw at least 2 at Pennington. I would think it is possible to see them anywhere between Lepe and Calshot on the coast.
They are easily recognisable in flight as the wings have no black at all making them look very pale and almost shining white in flight. When settled they have more dusky black on the head than the winter plumages Black-headed Gulls do.
Good luck
Cheers
Simon Curson.
