The weather was warm and sunny. Highlights were Clouded Yellow and Grey Plover.
On the foreshore at the car park we saw lots of Brent Goose and Turnstone with a few Little Egret and Oystercatcher. At the river valley there was a Lesser Black-backed Gull sitting on a concrete cross bar. In the distance there were a few Redshank and Curlew feeding and a couple of Stonechat on the bushes. We walked further along stopping to look at some Hottentot Fig that had one purple flower on it and a Clouded Yellow butterfly flew past. The shore was quiet for birds today and it was only once we got to the muddy areas that we saw a few more waders. Grey Plover and Dunlin with Redshank and more Oystercatchers and Brent Goose. After a little while we found a few Ringed Plover. Just before we got to the road to walk back we saw several Wigeon feeing on the grassy areas of the estuary. The walk back was fairly uneventful, but we did see several Parasol Mushrooms. Simon Curson
