I have noticed that Robins have already started singing to set up theri winter territories. There seem to be hardly any other species singing at the moment, so it is a good chance to learn Robins song without getting confused by other species!!!! Basically I reckon that any bird you hear singing at the moment, especially during the day (not just at dawn) will be a Robin. If you listen to its pace (quite slow) and how it sounds quite well spaced out, then by spring the Robin should be one of those species you know of by heart!!
Anyone heard any other species singing this week???

Wrens are another one that will sing right through the winter. They're stereotypical song can be easily told apart from the Robin's.
