Has anyone noticed that very few birds are singing now? Locally there are Woodpigeons, Greenfinch and Goldfinch singing. Wren still sings occasionally and Robins have started up again, but infrequently. Anybody heard any other singing birds lately? Simon Curson

I agree simon its seems very quiet here early in the mornings, Wrens seem to be singing but apart from collar doves and wood pigeons not a lot else.

It is quite evident that there are less birds singing in my neck of the woods. Normally I would have blackbirds, wrens, robins, greenfinches singing, but not at the moment. Even the collar doves have decided to keep themselves quiet. Another thing - house martins have just built a nest under the eaves of my house and have produced young, thought that was a bit late, am I right on that one?

Interesting to note that your Collared Doves are quiet now. House Martins will produce several broods in the summer - I have even seen them feeding young in the nest in late October!! Let us know how they do. Simon Curson.
