There has been a Stilt Sandpiper on Brownsea Island for over a week now. How long it will stay is unknown. It comes from USA and is pretty rare in this country, so this might be one of your only chances to ever see one. It can be sen from the hide on the Dorset Wildlife Trust part of the island. There is a landing fee payable to National Trust and an entrance fee to the DWT part of the island, so it is not a cheap day out. Good luck and let us know if you see it.

Hi, The Stilt Sandpiper appears to have gone now (23rd Aug, Weds). I went over to Brownsea and it wasn't there - boo. Did see Greenshank, Bar-tailed Godwit and some Avocets. Simon
