Went for a late morning walk on the heaths south of Burley in the sunshine. At least 3 Dartford Warblers singing and 1 Woodlark. 2 Ravens flew over and 1 did some wonderful tumbling display fllight. Also saw 2 Brimstone butterfly and 1 Peacock along the old railway line there. Simon Curson

Would like to add that there were 10+ brimstone butterfly on the wing at Lower River Test on 6th March and my first sighting of a peacock was on 8th March at Keyhaven & Pennington. There were also three Slavonian grebes present offshore of Oxey Marsh close enough for good views.

I have been seeing Brimstones at several sites now for the past 3 days and several Red Admirals - the warm weather has woken them up!! Simon Curson (13th March)

Havn't seen any butterflies yet this year. Did a conservation event on Saturday (10th) in Holmsley Inclosure in the New Forest & the weather was perfect. No butterflies, but there was a 7-spot Ladybird, a Bumblebee Queen Bombus lapidarius & Wood Ants. Simon Currie
