Leaches Petrels on the coast
« on: December 08, 2006, 11:36:48 AM »

Hi,
This windy weather has forced many Leaches Petrel closer to shore. They normally move and feed far out in the Englsih Channel and Atlantic at this time of year. However they have been seen passing Portland Bill, Hengistbury Head, Milford and several other places on the coast.
Movement may have died down by today, but if the southerly wind starts up again in the next few days it would be worth going down to the sea for a look
Cheers
