Location: Blashford Lakes, Ringwood, Hampshire + field visits to other New Forest locations. To find Blashford Lakes drive up the A338 from Ringwood towards Fordingbridge. After about 2 miles there is a crossroads, turn right here (signed to Moyles Court) and the reserve entrance is the first on your right, after a short while.

An evening course with field trips at weekends to help you get to grips with birds and bird watching.
Do you want to know more about birds, their habits and identification? How to find them and identify them? Then join us on the evening course. A 16 hour course consisting of 2 evening classes to study ID and 4 field trips to put your ID into practice.
If you are new to birdwatching or just want to know more and practise your skills, then this is the course for you. We cover general ID techniques, where to find birds in their Hampshire habitats, how to survey and record birds and how to identify birds from their songs and calls. The field trips cover the best places to see birds in winter and spring and include a dawn chorus.

Date and time: Two Wednesday evenings (7-9pm) and four weekend field trips (Saturday mornings) between February and April. Starts on Wednesday 24 February.
